Marc and I went to the aquarium which I quite liked as I love to be underwater but I hate swimming, therefore viewing underwater scenes while remaining in the sweet, sweet taste of nice safe oxygen and appropriate gravity levels is always appealing to me.
Here are some pictures I was able to take as my technology remained safe and dry:

Also there were taxidermy-animals which was a treat. There was a taxidermy Lynx which was cool because I love Lynx (the cat-like animal not the appalling 'scent' for 'men') especially taxidermy ones as they cannot viciously attack me. For some reason I did not take a photo of it and yet I have several photos of a taxidermy (taxidermied?) alpaca as an hilarious yet fully appropriate joke to share with Elsa. But then I read the sign properly and discovered they were llamas not alpacas (yes, for awhile I did think 'stuff it (lol taxidermy pun) who knows the difference anyway*?' But then I reminded myself that Elsa would know the difference and Elsa would point it out mockingly. Here are some of the photos I did take that are not of llamas:

*I took it upon myself to further investigate the llama vs alpaca debate and found pictures representative of both species:

(a llama 'hilariously' photoshopped)

(an alpaca from montana)

Conclusion: both are fabulous
I am really bad at posting in my blog. I even looked up 'iamreallyshitathavingablog.blogspot.com' because I was toying with the idea of changing my address to that seeing as it would be a more apt description of what is going on here and lucky me the option is there if I ever need it:

Sorry, the blog you are looking for does not exist. However, the name iamreallyshitathavingablog is available and can be saved!

my deer friends

Down the street is a park called la pep and that's where my new deer friends live and I love them and almost got mad at a lady who was feeding them popcorn as popcorn has very little nutritional value, proof:

And she was feeding them right under this sign:
So I was all like 'mon dieu!' But only in my head as I don't yet know how violent old French women can get and I didn't want to find out right there in the park in the view of all those innocent deer. Like what if I got all bloodied up from her umbrella or choked to death from popcorn and they were traumatized? Which would be especially bad as I don't think there are deer psychologists (possible new career path?) who could help them get past the haunting memories of such a tragedy. Anyway I didn't want the corruption of deer weighing on my shoulders so I went on silently mon dieu-ing safely in my own head.

These are my deers:
This is their pet chicken:
This is the street they can see from their little deer-field home and I thought it was pretty:

the time i didn't die in the living room

Ok so this is Nancy:
The place where I live is a bit to the left of this photo, which is so far my favourite part of the city because it's the oldest and I like old things (important note: this statement should not be confused with me also liking old people). This is part of the old city where I was waiting by the city gates but there was totally this couple making out in the tunnel bit and I didn't want to look like I was a pervert watching them and therefore give New Zealand a bad name so I took photos of restaurants instead:

This is Stanislas Square ft. Stanislas, he likes to point, and good on him, everyone likes a statue who knows what he wants. (This also provided the perfect opportunity to bring out my 'what did one statue say to the other statue? Is stat-you bro?' joke (was a hit by the way)).

This is also a photo taken from my street. So if you turn around and find the right door to go through voila our secret garden:

And this is our secret door:

And this is the living room, Marc thought it was funny, he said 'like the room you are not meant to die in?' Because he is good at jokes:

And this is a kitchen, I thought I should take some photos of the kitchen to put up because women are meant to like that sort of thing:

vivre sa vie

Salut lovers, I've been in Nancy for a week now (if you count the entire day which I slept through, which I do, as technically I was still present in an unconscious sort of way) which I think gives me enough of an excuse to start pretending I'm Anna Karina (like before she learnt French properly and if she wasn't going to become an actress and if she was from New Zealand instead of Denmark but apart from all that we are basically the same person now). So you can pretend this video is accurate of my everyday life:

So salut, je m'appelle Kelsey, I am pretty much Anna Karina with a blog now. So far I've learnt how to say "j'ai des fourmis dans les jambes" which is like saying you have pins and needles in your legs which is obviously incredibly vital to my survival in France, like if I'm walking weirdly and someone looks at me like 'wtf' I can say "desolee, j'ai des fourmis dans les jambes' and all will be well in the land de France.
